Cincinnati Ghost Seekers and Interface Death will be hosting a public ghost hunting event at Guyer Opera House on November 13th, 2015. Guyer Opera House is a turn-of-the-century theater in Lewisville Indiana that has it's fair share of history and tragedy. Built in 1901, the owner Dr. Oscar K. Guyer. died in March 1901 before the theater opened and it is said that his restless spirit haunts the building. Dr. Guyer's funeral was even held in the autotorium. In 1923, a young audience member -- six-year-old Newell Calpha -- was accidentally shot in the theater during the performance of a traveling "wild west show." He was watching the exhibition from the third row of the audience and was shot in the forehead. The theater was left abandoned until 1985 until rennovations began to restore the building and that's when the activity began. Reports have begun to circulate about strange activity at the opera house, from ghostly footsteps to knocking sounds, whispers, voices in the dressing rooms, doors opening and closing, mysterious shadows and much more. The stories say that the ghost of young Newell Calpha has been seen in the theater, as well as the apparition of Dr. Guyer, who was never able to enjoy the opera house when he was alive. Join us as we take our first look at this historical location. Refreshments and Cincy Ghost Events memorabilia will be provided.
