ABOUT ABOUT

Cincinnati Ghost Seekers invites you to a historic jail where tragic deaths have occurred. Built in 1889, Licking county jail was the fourth and largest jail in the county and was seen on the Travel Channel's show Ghost Adventures. It has four floors and housed Newark Ohio's toughest criminals through out its history. Many believe the ghosts of the prisoners who committed suicide and who was murdered haunt the jail to this day. An angry mob stormed the jail and murdered a man named Carl Etherington in his jail cell after killing a former police captin in self defense. After he was beaten to death, they hung his lifeless body in the town square. Many investigators have recorded his voice telling them his name and that he still needs help. Carl still may be doing time since 1910. Another tragic death came from a women named May Varner on the fourth floor where she burned herself alive. Her screams can still be heard from the fourth floor as if the suicide is playing over and over again. People claim to leave the jail with attatchments and others claimed to be scratched. Who knows what angry and desperate spirits still remain in Licking County Jail. Seize the chance to explore this old, historic jail and find out for yourself if this place is truly haunted like the stories tell.

Snacks and soda will be provided. Please bring a flashlight and any recording equipment you may have.
